Associate Director of Teaching (Quality)

I have held formal leadership positions within the School since 2020, including Chair of the School of Biomedical Sciences Honours Committee and Associate Director of Teaching (Quality) since Sep 2022. I have an excellent track record in effective management of teaching and learning and quality assurance of the School’s Education portfolio.

In my role as Associate Director of Teaching (Quality), I set benchmarks for teaching expectations and have developed and implemented key strategies in the School that have enhanced the quality of our teaching and excellence in student experience, with impact across all our programs. In my Director of Teaching role, I have facilitated and supported the introduction of a range of educational innovations, through staff capacity building and showcasing of new teaching approaches and technologies, such as through consultations with course convenors, dissemination through School L&T seminars and working with Educational Developers in the Medicine and Health Education Development Unit (MHEDU) to select the most appropriate platforms for the School’s needs. I have sought to establish a strong culture among academics in the School for routine reviewing and strengthening of courses through embedding new and appropriate technologies and learning and teaching strategies for both blended and online delivery.

I have a key role in the implementing university policies and procedures and overseeing course and program quality improvements at a School-level to support quality teaching outcomes and excellence in the student experience. This includes supporting the Head of School in the development of the School’s Strategic Plan, staffing and workforce management, development and mentoring of teaching staff.
