The 'Beginning to Teach' course is a professional development course offered to early career researchers and higher degree research students, to assist them with key skills needed to get started in teaching. The course is delivered by the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education and Student Experience) Portfolio and I was invited to participate as a facilitator for two courses in 2017 and again in 2020. In this role I provided constructive feedback and encouraged self-reflection on the short face-to-face teaching activity that each participant delivered. This was an opportunity for the participants to practise some of the skills and techniques learned during the course.
