The best features of Jennie Cederholm's teaching

I bring to my teaching my specialist discipline knowledge and expertise as a researcher in physiology and neuroscience. Hence, my teaching approach is very much focused on research- and inquiry-based learning (Healey and Jenkins, 2009). My teaching practice is also strongly influenced by continuous self-reflection and listening to students’ feedback, and in doing so, I have increased student satisfaction and learning by transforming several courses, e.g. Neuroscience Fundamentals (NEUR2201).

I strive to provide learning environments that allow students to understand key concepts and to develop the skills to connect the links between cellular physiology and system functions. I actively engage with my students, provide timely feedback and I am consistent in my communication with my students. This creates an inclusive and supportive learning environment for the students to achieve their best.

I have a mean MyExperience score for the past 5 years of 5.33 ± 0.10 and 97.3% ±  0.8% agree (across 9 Science and Medicine courses). The course that I convene (NEUR2201) has an overall satisfaction score of 5.14 ± 0.19 and 95.9% ±  2.0% agree (2020 - 2023).
