In my teaching, I continuously endeavour to provide my students with a learning environment where they feel supported and encouraged to discuss and reflect on the course content and their own knowledge to develop a deeper understanding. Qualitative feedback (MyExperience) from the Medicine Phase 1 Society & Health course shows that "I encourage student participation" (100% agreement; 6/12 students in 2020; 13/14 students in 2021), "provide helpful feedback" (100% agreement; 2020-2021), that "I teach at a level understood by students" (100% agreement), and that "I motivate them to learn" (100% agreement).
Furthermore, all students surveyed said that I "behave professionally at all times with students", was "welcoming to everyone and made everyone feel comfortable to share their ideas", "provided an open and stimulating learning environment", and that I "includes all members in scenario group sessions".
In addition, my score as an Instructor for "Overall I was satisfied with the quality of this person's teaching" was 5.67 (2020), which was higher than that of the School (5.47). Comments from the students include: "encourage student participation in class"; "help students to proofread assignments"; "teach relevant knowledge during class"; "Jennie is extremely knowledgeable and has really valuable feedback. Very accommodating and experiences".
The score in 2021 and 2022 improved from 2020 and was 6.0/6.0 and 5.92/6, respectively, which again was higher than that of the School (5.51 and 5.31, respectively).
