In February 2025, I was appointed Chair of the Australian Section of the Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences (KICS). This is an international leadership role that creates a formal bridge between Australian and Korean research communities in communications and information technology.

In this capacity, I initiated and organised the TacEdge Workshop 2026 (tacedge.org) at UNSW Canberra - a workshop bringing together researchers from five Korean universities (Incheon National University, Dongguk University, Kumoh National Institute of Technology, Korea University, and NTUST in Taiwan), with KICS co-sponsorship. I secured $5,000 from the SET school and $5,000 in in-kind matching from Korean partners to fund the event, covering catering, student assistants, honorariums, and event logistics.

The workshop creates opportunities for colleagues and students at UNSW Canberra to network with international researchers, exchange expertise, and explore collaborative projects - directly aligned with my teaching and research in telecommunications and defence technologies.
