Vice Chancellor's Award for Teaching Excellence 2015

2015 UNSW Vice Chancellor's Award for Teaching Excellence - Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning. Awarded for development of curricula and resources that reflect a command of the field of physiology. This was based on the impact of work in three key areas:

  • The use of 'challenge questions' to engage undergraduate students in large lectures with difficult concepts through the use of personally relevant questions in physiology
  • The development of eLearning modules on thyroid physiology, that enhance the student learning environment, and which have subsequently been shared nationally via the Biomedical Education Skills and Training (BEST) Network.
  • The re-design of the stage 3 course in molecular and cellular neuroscience, to include a scaffolded collaborative student project that builds teamwork and research skills through specific, actionable and timely feedback.
