As part of my professional development I took the opportunity to learn and develop as a public speaker by enrolling into NIDA Corporate's course "Public Speaking Bootcamp". This was a 2 hour online session on 4 occasions across four weeks with only 5 participants in total. This allowed for meaningful discussions and everyone's engagement in the activities. I learned about the importance of ones voice, body language and structure of a talk to engage an audience and developed excellent strategies to achieve this. The course involved extensive self reflection and constructive feedback from all participants as well as the course leader. I will be using what I have learned in this course to enhance my own teaching delivery and increase student engagement.
