Construction of Strength and Conditioning Portfolio for Tutorials and Assessments in EXPT2169

For the course EXPT2168 'Strength and Conditioning' Mitchell designed a portfolio of work for the students to complete with 'choice' based activities each week. Students are invited to choose a sport they are interested in and then they will be assigned a second sport in order to create diversity of the skills they will apply throughout the unit. Each week, they are able to choose the sport they complete the activities on.

Working with SoHS director of teaching Dr Rachel Ward, and Nexus Fellow Dr Daniella Castro De Jong - Mitchell has created linked assessments to the portfolio of work.

The first being a periodisation model where they present the work created in tutorials 1-3 with accompanying rationale. Students are given opportunity for feedback in class each week and then additional feedback on the assessment (due week 5). This then informs the final assessment, a Pitch presentation and interview style Q&A.

The students will pitch their approach to one of their sports in a job interview style with their portfolio submitted as supporting evidence. The marker will then facilitate a Q&A session where they will draw upon understanding the student has presented as well as facilitate discussion of the students secondary sport for their portfolio.
