Introduction of online learning modules to facilitate life-long habit of independent learning
As a key aspect of the curriculum rollout, I integrated eight online learning modules tailored for independent, asynchronous learning, ensuring accessibility for students across metropolitan and rural clinical campuses. By 2024, I had enhanced these modules to include clinical tools like ECG and X-rays, enriching training opportunities, especially in management vivas and Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs).
Following a review of Integrated Clinical Examination (ICE) results, it was identified that students faced challenges primarily with Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). To address this, weekly compulsory quizzes were introduced based on module topics to reinforce their learning.
Impact: Analysis of pre- and post-module quizzes revealed a statistically significant improvement in students' performance in 5 out of 8 topics. Notably, the questions in the pre-module quizzes were generally easier compared to the post-module quizzes, indicating progress in learning and comprehension.
