Engagement in Discipline Specific PD related to teaching outcomes
Mitchell was accepted as one of 30 ECRs to the 'PainStar' program. The Pain School for Translation and Research was a collaborative of health professionals and researchers to inform current practice, research, and teaching. Mitchell presented his research to this collaborative, though, more importantly, was a student delegate within the pain school to learn multidisciplinary approaches to teaching in this discipline specific subject area. Mitchell has designed (with Dr Matthew Jones) the first pain related course in the new Exercise Science/Physiology/Physiotherapy program (EXPT3152), which had approval to be delivered early in 2022 (not due to roll out until 2025). This engagement in the PainStar program is an example of Mitchell's on-going engagement with Professional development, which adds upon engagement in other initiatives such as the Australian Pain Societies Annual Scientific Conference, and Exercise and Sports Science Australia's bi-annual Research to Practice conference.
