I have driven significant research collaborations with another regional university to establish the development of lab-based biomedical science honours projects in a rural location. Previously students only had the option of undertaking clinical research projects. The addition of these projects significantly adds to the rural school experience, adds depth to the curriculum and increases our research footprint in the region. It also capitalises on world-class infrastructure and expertise available in our region and provides an opportunity to build the region through advancing biotechnology and molecular biology research.

I consider it a privilege to use my skills to contribute building the region through research outputs and excellence.
