Leading within an educational context

I have always aimed to teach in an ethical and professional manner. I have encouraged change to meet our governing body, ESSA's requirements for things such as student supervision, along with the recent implementation of UNSW WIL procedures. As previously mentioned, being a member of the ESSA Standards Council gives me the unique opportunity and also obligation to ensure the professional and ethical standards of our industry are being met.

I constantly aim to encourage collaboration, and have so in the past by linking clinical placements with researchers within the university to further translational research, arranging for in-services to be presented by UNSW SME's for the development of our external supervisors and developing research and student placement opportunities with organisations such as Albion Centre HIV Clinic, St Vincent’s Mental Health Unit and NSW Waratahs Rugby Union.

I am also currently working with both department and faculty colleagues to foster interdisciplinary collaboration for the benefit of our students which hopefully translates into their future careers.
