PODS leader - Teaching Accelerator Program

In 2022, I was asked to contribute to the inaugural Teaching Accelerator Program as a Peer Orientation, Development and Support (PODS) leader. The Teaching Accelerator Program was introduced as a way to ensure that all new teaching staff at the university are supported, connected and equipped with the information and skills needed to offer UNSW students an outstanding learning experience. The PODS are a critical part of this, providing new starters with a supportive peer group and a peer leader to help them navigate the complexities of starting at a new institution. As a PODS leader I guided and mentored a group of 10 academics through their first year at UNSW. This included attending, contributing to and leading five days of Teaching Accelerator Program workshops, as well as monthly catch-ups with the PODS group.
