Teaching context and philosophy

My teaching philosophy is education through exploration, and that education is about learning to think. I am deeply committed to the idea of reimagining online education, given the unique affordances of online learning accessed through current and emerging technologies. For example. Artificial Intelligence in adaptive and personalised learning, virtual worlds in accessing the unseen atom to the unimaginable size of the cosmos through and Augmented Reality allowing new perspectives on information about our technological and natural worlds. I am also committed to evidence-based teaching, making use of Moodle and other analytics to understand how each student learns and progresses and how that changes through time. I want to inspire and motivate my students to value learning now and in the future.
