My appointment as a casual academic commenced in 2021 coinciding with the peak of the COVID-19 lockdowns. Without the luxury of face to face tutorials there was a surmountable challenge in supporting student learning and maintaining the active learning environment that is expected in the School of Biomedical Science. Through the combination of Microsoft Teams and shared learning documents we were able to overcome this barrier to learning and receive 100% student satisfaction in PATH2201/PATH2202. The most significant achievement from this year was maintaining the standard of the teaching that is expected from the University ensuring the students still developed the skills and progressed in a manner that is required for professional practice. With the return to face to face learning I believe we successfully minimised disruptions to their education and provided them all the necessary skills to succeed with the remainder of their degree.
