Teaching context and philosophy

My main aim as an educator is to give students authentic, positive learning experiences in both online and face-to-face learning environments that motivate and engage them while driving their curiosity to learn more. I see students very much as people with individual needs, so I especially cater to different styles of learning by incorporating diverse technologies, assessments, and activities. I have always been fascinated by how technology can enhance teaching. Aligning with the UNSW 2025 Strategy—which promises an educational experience with effective integration of online learning—I saw huge value in introducing online activities to give my students greater flexibility alongside increased capacity to personalise, and take charge of, their own learning.

Through highly engaging resources I provide sufficient scaffolding and support to inspire students to keep moving forward with their learning, even if they experience some stumbling blocks. I have always tried to foster learning environments where the students feel comfortable reaching out to ask for help, reduce their stress, evaluate their knowledge, and test their technical abilities and be able to try new things and make mistakes with minimal consequences.
