Engagement of external industry partners within course & subject development & facilitation
Figure 1: Engagement with industry partners - UoW

Within my first 6 months at UoW, I established industry links with 5 national occupational & rehabilitation services providers - IOH, Kairros, Pinnacle Rehab, Peak Conditioning, and Kinnect.

Together, we provided >30 industry-based exemplar reports (e.g., initial, progress and post-treatment reports, exercise programs, assessment templates & formats, and approval requests) to students undertaking EXSC424/924 Advanced Workplace Injury Management for Exercise Physiologists.

Impact: Collaboration with industry partners and the provision of shared resources, allows students insight into professional practice standards. By showcasing a variety of exemplars, it highlights to students the multitude of ways a singular task can be achieved. This in turn allows them to develop their own preferred practice standard, further preparing them for the ever changing world within industry. Using the PULAS, students 'enjoyed all the examples, examples of different clinician approaches'.

Figure 2: Engagement with industry experts - UNSW

Within my time at UNSW I established links with 12 industry experts, across the domains of Neuromuscular Rehabilitation, Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation & Workplace Rehabilitation. This network allowed me to deliver contemporary curriculum that was highly relevant to our industry sector. By having practicing clinicians engaged in casual demonstration, it allowed students early connection with industry, in additional to access to anecdotal patient-centred stories, not only sparking interest in each of the expert's interest areas but facilitating students draw the link between theory and practice.

Impact: Through this relationship, three industry partners were conferred as UNSW adjuncts, providing relevant content design & supervision to 4th year Exercise Physiology students. The effectiveness and impact of industry partner teaching is highlighted through consistently high (5.0+) Perceived Effectiveness of Teaching Scale (PETS) & MyExperience scores from students.
