Undertaking a Master of Medical Education transformed my approach to teaching from one based largely on intuition and personal experience to one grounded in educational theory and evidence. The program provided a deeper understanding of curriculum design, assessment, feedback, workplace-based learning and educational research methods. It gave me the language and conceptual frameworks to analyse teaching and learning more critically, improve the quality of my educational practice, and contribute to broader educational initiatives. Importantly, it laid the foundation for my later scholarship in medical education and shaped my development as a clinician–educator and academic leader.
