As a postgraduate medical student, I was selected out of over 100 participants as the winner of the Bioethics Oral and Written Disputation Competition (University of Notre Dame, Australia). This involved writing and presenting a disputation on an ethically complex issue in clinical medicine. I was required to examine this issue from multiple viewpoints, including religious,
